Cookies are small text files which provide information on the number of connections made by a user and on what the user did during their visits. Cookies do not contain identifiable personal data, but if You provide us with this type of information (when You register with us, for example), it can be linked to the data stored in the cookies.
You can accept or refuse cookies at all time. Most internet navigators automatically accept cookies, but You can modify this parameter by configuring your navigator by clicking on the “tools” menu, followed by “options”. The Museum undertakes to protect your personal data against unauthorised acees, destruction or theft and to implement all measures required under the Federal Data Protection Act of June 19, 1992.
The Museum uses secured networks protected by firewalls, conforming to industry standards, supported by passwords. The Museum has security measures installed to protect user data from theft, abusive usage and deterioration.
With the exception of the cases indicated below, only approved employees have access to the information with which You provide us. Furthermore, employees of The Museum with access to the data bases containing information on the users, or to the servers hosting our services, must abide by strict rules.
Furthermore, The Museum at no time keeps bank details, such as credit card numbers, used on its trading website. The transfer of these data is made in a direct and secured way (SSL) to your banking organisation and only during the purchasing procedure.
Indeed, when a purchase is made on the E-commerce Website, the entire payment phase is undertaken between You and the payment service provider (PSP), DATATRANS. To find out the data handling conditions, consult their website, www.datatrans.ch.

During the payment phase, You temporarily leave our site and go to the secure Datatrans site.

This guarantees that:
-  The Museum will never know your card number
-  Datatrans will never know details of your purchases, as The Museum informs them only of the total amount due and the order number.

On the secure payment page, Datatrans will need the following information:

- your card number (16 figures)
- the expiry date
- the security number on the back of your card

In this way, your banking information is never stored by The Museum.

The Internet servers automatically identify your computer through the IP address they receive during your session on line.
The Museum or third parties representing it can collect IP addresses for system administration purposes and to monitor the use of the E-commerce Website. Normally, The Museum does not establish any link between a user’s IP address and identifiable personal data belonging to the said user, which means that each user session will be recorded, but that the users remain anonymous as far as The Museum is concerned. Notwithstanding, we may use IP addresses to identify users of our website when we feel it necessary to ensure the usage conditions are being observed or to protect our services, our website or other users.
The Museum reserves the right to provide IP addresses to the competent authorities in the event of a fraud attempt or if abusive use of a credit card is observed.
